3D Editor with integrated BSP Compiler and Source Code
BSP stands for Binary Space Partitioning. Getic does not generate BSP compatible with
any of commercial games. Getic BSP files structure can be found here
Getic 3D is a 3D Level Editor designed for 3D game engines, presentations and fun.
Getic 3D uses Constructive Solid Geometry with BSP Trees.
With Getic 3D you can build extremely complex environments by CSG-ing primitives over and over. The Level/Scene can be saved as raw polygonal file or compiled in a Leafy (Quake Style) BSP tree and rendered in game engines. MOGE. is a framework startup 3D Game Engine that expose basic rendering and collision detection using Getic 3D BSP tree. You can pull out only the BSP rendering (gbsplib) and plug it in your engine and ... wow! you're half way done with your 3D engine!
Getic 3D has a very flexible BSP Compiler that allows you to customize
the final output for your various needs as.
Raw polygons,
AABB Tree / for large terrain,
Solid BSP,
Portals (for portal Engines),
All above combined
Getic 3D editor suports 4(+1) Texture stages, Moving platforms, Texture animations, Triggers, Scripting and
even Custom Items (your own Entities), Terrain Carving (24x24 tiles) and Huge Terrain Height-map (128x128). You can
attach additional custom data to any entity in the scene.
Take a look at the sample source code (MOGE) that comes with the package to see how easy is to
integrate Getic BSP into a Game Engine. Just Think
about it. Getic BSP File Format is Free, very well documented, much more featured
extensible that any other open-source BSP-s.
